Feng Huiling Lectures on Digital Memory

On April 20th, in the 291th Luojia Lecture of Wuhan University, Prof. Feng Huiling from Renmin University of China delivered an academic report on digital memory.

Professor Feng Huiling pointed out that digital memory is the digital collection, organization, storage and display of historical and cultural information of specific objects. The memory carried and transmitted in cyberspace is a form of writing memory and a realization of digital humanities.

Digital memory is conducive to maintaining historical authenticity, cultural continuity, and cultural diversity; it is conducive to continuing regional spirit, spreading culture, supporting identity, and accumulating cultural resources. Digital memory requires multidisciplinary and multi-field exchanges. Feng Huiling also talked about her own views and understanding of the relations between digital memory and digital humanities. In the Q&A session, Feng Huiling answered questions about the role of Science of Library, Information and Archival in digital memory.
