Writing

Writingis a core journal in the discipline of writing and the official publication of China Writing Academy, a first-class national society. Authorized and founded in July 1981, it is a national-level publication under the supervision of the Ministry of Education. Its objective is to study writing theories and to popularize writing skills. The current chief editor is Qiu Fei-lian, standing vice-president and secretary-general of China Writing Academy.

During the last 35 years since it started publication,many famous writers, such as Bing Xin, Lv Shu-xiang, Wang Meng, Ru Zhi-juan,scholars and high-ranking government officials have attributed their works toWriting,among which areFaithfulness and Elegance in WritingbyZhou Yang, former minister of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, andSuggestions on Writing Teachingby Ye Sheng-tao.Deng Ying-chao, the then chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political and Consultative Conference(CPPCC), once wrote an inscription forWriting, saying “to revitalize the discipline of writing, and serve the development of Four Modernizations”. Zang Ke-jia and Wang Meng once acted as the editor-in-chief for the journal ofWriting.

Having a positive influence on several generations,Writinghas won wide recognition from different sectors of the society, and made great contributions to both the disciplinary constructions of writing in colleges and universities in China and the revolution of writing teaching. It is honored as a Double-Effect journal, indicating its benefits in both economic and social aspects.
