[Academic Symposium]The 24th Annual Conference and Academic Symposium of the Chinese Society of Ancient Literature Theory Held at Wuhan University

News Network (Correspondent Liu Chunyou) From March 15th to 18th, the "New Opportunities for Chinese Literary Theory - The 24th Annual Conference and Academic Symposium of the Chinese Society of Ancient Literature Theory " was successfully held at Wuhan University. This conference was hosted by the Chinese Society of Ancient Literature Theory and organized by the School of Literature of Wuhan University. More than 270 experts and scholars from over 140 institutions of higher learning, research institutions, and publishing houses were invited to attend, with nearly 240 papers submitted.

On the morning of the 16th, the conference was convened at Wuhan University. Zhao Xuemei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University, attended and delivered a speech, warmly welcoming the experts and scholars to Wuhan University for the conference.

Yuting, Dean of the School of Literature at Wuhan University, pointed out in his speech that in recent years, Chinese literary theory research has encountered new opportunities, mainly manifested in reflections on compulsory interpretation, digital humanities research, overseas sinology resources, and the revival of classical civilization. Prof. Hu Xiaoming, President of the Chinese Society of Ancient Literary Theory from the East China Normal University, called for the discovery of the spiritual traditions of Chinese literature, and more spiritual connection, and illumination of ideas. Professor Li Jianzhong of the School of Literature at Wuhan University recalled the 44 years of companionship with the Society. From "although unable to reach, the heart is set on it" to becoming a member of the Society after ten years of pursuit. Since then, he has never missed a single annual meeting. He expressed his determination to deepen friendship with the Society.

In the afternoon of the 16th and the morning of the 17th, the conference conducted a total of 25 group discussions. The papers of each group mainly focused on the theme of "New Opportunities for Chinese Literary Theory," involving areas such as classical studies of Chinese literary theory, macroscopic generalizations of Chinese literary theory, criticism of Chinese literary theory, key terms of Chinese literary theory, theoretical methods of Chinese literary theory research, and new perspectives on Chinese literary theory research. In the afternoon of the 17th, the third session of the conference was chaired by Professor Gu Feng from Yangzhou University and Professor Wang Huaiyi from Wuhan University. Professor Hu Xiaoming of East China Normal University, Professor Zhou Xishan of Shanghai Academy of Art, Professor Zhao Houjun of East China Normal University, Professor Yang Ziyan of China Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Liu Xianglan of Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Wu Zhongsheng of Gannan Normal University, Assistant Professor Hu Qi of Peking University, and Associate Professor Fu Xu of Shandong University shared their latest research.

It is learnt that the Chinese Society of Ancient Literature Theory was established in 1979 and has a history of 45 years. Prior to this, Wuhan University had successfully hosted the second (1980) and the twelfth annual conferences (2001).
