On July 28th, the forum on "The Rise of Central China and Acceleration of Hubei Province as a Central Strategic Fulcrum" was held in Wuhan. Experts and scholars from universities and scientific research institutions such as Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Wuhan University, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences etc. offered advice and suggestions on this topic.

The forum is co-sponsored by the Publicity Department of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee, Wuhan University, and Hubei Academy of Social Sciences.

Song Min, Dean of the School of Economics and Management of our university, gave a keynote speech on the topic of "Wuhan Construction of ‘Two Centers’: Supporting the State's Major Strategic Demand Direction and Path Research". He analyzed the unique advantages of Wuhan’s construction of a comprehensive national science center and technology innovation center. Wuhan, as a national and even global leader in the development of optoelectronics, remote sensing, new energy vehicles, biopharmaceuticals and other technologies, has core technologies that lead scientific and technological innovation. When the country faces major external risks and foreign technology blockades, it can play a major technical support role.

Professor Zou Wei from the School of Economics and Management of our university pointed out in her keynote speech that Hubei Province must seize the opportunity to build a strategic fulcrum and dare to take the lead when needed.

Li Daokui, Dean of the Chinese Institute of Economic Thought and Practice at Tsinghua University, pointed out that Hubei must accelerate the establishment of a strategic fulcrum by firmly grasping the three advantages of talents, industry and location, and focusing on low-carbon industries.
