The International Symposium on "Literature Tradition in Chinese Culture" was Held in our University

From September 20th to 22nd, the International Symposium on Literary Tradition in Chinese Culture was held at Wuhan University. The Symposium was co-sponsored by the Center of Traditional Chinese Cultural Studies of Wuhan University, Guangming Literature Heritage Research Institute and College of Chinese Language and Literature of Wuhan University. More than 80 scholars from Peking University, Fudan University, South Korea Yeungnam University and other universities and colleges attended the seminar. A total of 59 papers were received by the conference.

The 2017 National Social Science Fund's major bidding project “Collection, Research and Database Construction of Chinese Literature History” was hosted by Professor Chen Wenxin of our university. Professor Chen has completed the collation and proofreading for the first volume of the20th Century Chinese Literature History Series. Dozens of high-quality academic papers, translations of overseas Chinese literature history, and the writing of theChinese Literature History Book Summaryhave also made important progress.

The participating scholars carried out in-depth discussions on the literary traditions in Chinese culture. The topics covered included Chinese literature and Chinese culture, the refined traditional traditions in Chinese literature, the history of Chinese literature outside China from the perspective of Sinology, and the history of Chinese literature as a personal writing, history of Chinese literature as textbook, the compilation of literary history and the evolution of literary concepts, case studies of Chinese literary history, and other issues related to Chinese culture, Chinese literature, and Chinese literature history.
