Scholars Look Forward to the Prospect of Central China Rise

  

      Since the implementation of central China rise strategy a decade ago, the economic and social development of the central region has witnessed great achievements. How will the central region develop in the next decade? The 6th Central China Development Forum was held in Hefei City on December 13, more than 150 experts and scholars gathered to exchange their ideas under the theme of The Outlook for Central China Rise in the Next Decade.

 

 


  

   

     The two-day forum was sponsored by the Institute for the Development of Central China of Wuhan University and Anhui University, delegates gathered to explore the historical background, innovative thinking, strategic positioning, key tasks, policy system of the rise of central China in the next decade, and more than 50 papers have been collected.

     

       During the forum, experts and scholars shared their views on development thinking and policy demands of the central China rise in the new decade, open cooperation and industrial transfer, key factors and improvement of comprehensive competitiveness, historical background and strategic choice, etc.
 

     Delegates also pointed out that we should foster a number of innovative “engine” enterprises with strong international influence, so as to translate our advantage of science and education resources in the central region into industrial development advantages; we should also give full play to the leading role of central city, city agglomeration, economic belt; efforts should be made to improve the development of financial system in the central region in order to consolidate financial support of central China rise; and we have to improve the formulation, introduction and implementation of national-level intervention tools through the development of rule of law, so they will be operated in a standardized legal system.

   

     It waslearnt that the Central China Development Forum was launched by the Institute for the Development of Central China, and supported by the Regional Economy Division of the National Development and Reform Commission. 6 provinces, namely Hubei, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Hunan, Henan, and Anhui will take turn to host this annual forum. So far, six sessions have been organized.
