[Academic Conference] Domestic Experts and Scholars Explore the Development Path of Macroeconomics

In order to promote the development of macroeconomics research, on June 12, the 2nd China Macroeconomics Forum was held at Wuhan University. Nearly a hundred experts and scholars from dozens of universities and scientific research institutions across the country participated in this forum.

At the opening ceremony, Shen Zhuanghai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of our university, delivered a welcome speech. He said that the second China Macroeconomics Forum, originally scheduled to be held in 2020, was held a year later in the heroic city of Wuhan, which is of special significance. 2021 is the first year of the "14th Five-Year Plan", and it is hoped that participating experts and scholars will use this forum to offer advice and suggestions for the Chinese economy and promote high-quality economic development.

Huang Qunhui, Director of the Institute of Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and editor-in-chief ofEconomic Research Journal, said that China will enter a new stage of development and build a new development pattern under the guidance of new development concepts. Chinese macroeconomicists must also come up with a new development paradigm of Chinese economics.

Du Xiaocheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University School of Economics and Management, presided over the opening ceremony. Song Min, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, introduced the general situation of the School and expressed his willingness to strengthen exchanges and deepen cooperation with the sister colleges and universities, and jointly explore the development path of macroeconomics under the new situation.

At the end of the opening ceremony, Chen Yanbin from Renmin University of China introduced the compilation of the textbookChinese Macroeconomicsand the general situation of China's macroeconomics research, saying that it is imperative to sum up the successful experience of China's economic development and form the theory of China's economic development.

On the afternoon of the 12th, 9 sub-forums were conducted, and the participating experts and scholars conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on different research topics.

It is reported that the China Macroeconomics Forum was co-sponsored by the Economic Research Magazine and 19 colleges and universities. It aims to promote academic research in the field of macroeconomics and promote exchanges among economists.
