[Research Seminar] He Zhimin, Deputy Director of the State Intellectual Property Office, Came to WHU for Research

On the morning of May 19th, He Zhimin, Deputy Director of the State Intellectual Property Office, came to Wuhan University to investigate the development of public services for intellectual property in universities.

Wuhan University attaches great importance to intellectual property work. All relevant departments have done a lot of work in intellectual property application and protection, industry-university-research cooperation, intellectual property information services, transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, intellectual property publicity and education and popularization, and have achieved positive results.

Wang Xincai, Director of the Wuhan University Library and Director of the Intellectual Property Information Service Center of Wuhan University, briefly reported on the construction progress, service effectiveness, existing problems and related suggestions of the Center.

The Intellectual Property Information Service Center of Wuhan University was established in July 2018 and is affiliated to the university library. In July 2020, it was selected as the second batch of National Intellectual Property Information Service Centers of the State Intellectual Property Office and the Ministry of Education. Since its establishment, the Center has provided services to the university, schools, students, research teams, and enterprises. It offers relevant general education courses, special lectures, intellectual property training, and intellectual property information services for the whole process of scientific research, it also participates in the development and cultivation of major national science and technology projects undertaken by our university. The Center also endeavors to carry out patent value assessment, promote the transformation of achievements, and actively serve the society and related companies.

After listening to the report, the participants conducted in-depth exchanges on issues such as intellectual property talent team building, service system building, and public access coordination mechanism for resources.
