[Scholar News] The National Library of China Sends a Letter of Thanks to Professor Guo Qiyong

The National Library of China recently sent a letter to Wuhan University to thank Professor Guo Qiyong of the School of Philosophy for his contribution in the compilation ofThe Hundred Classics of Chinese Traditional Culture.

It is learnt that the compilation project ofThe Hundred Classics of Chinese Traditional Cultureis supported and guided by the Central Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and organized and implemented by the National Library of China. It is a major commissioned project of the National Social Science Fund in 2017 and a national key book publishing planning project during the 13th Five-Year Plan.

Guo Qiyong and his students Liu Yiping, Wu Longcan, etc. completed the interpretation of the new bookThe Hundred Classics of Chinese Classical Culture · Book of Rites. The book follows a strict compilation style, which fully absorbs the research results of academia, it is both academic and reader-friendly, and has been widely praised by all sectors of society after its publication.

The book selects important chapters and paragraphs ofThe Book of Ritesfor annotations and comments to help readers understand the connotation of ritual music culture at the level of artifacts, institutions, values, and meanings, which highlights the contemporary value ofThe Book of Rites.
