The pre-acceptance of the "National Key R&D" Project of the National Institute of Cultural Development in WHU has been completed

On April 30, a pre-acceptance meeting of the National Key R&D Project "Service Value and Cultural Communication Evaluation Theory and Technology" was held in Beijing. The National Institute of Cultural Development in Wuhan University is one of the participating units of the project.

The "National Key R&D" Project consists of four sub-projects, with a number of first-class domestic universities forming scientific research teams responsible for each sub-project. Professor Fu Caiwu, Dean of the National Institute of Cultural Development in WHU, serves as the chief expert of the third sub-project "Research on National Cultural Structure and National Cultural Communication Based on Data Analysis" (2017YFB1400403), and together with other brother schools and universities such as the School of Remote Sensing Information Engineering, the School of Computer and South Central University for Nationalities, a multi-disciplinary comprehensive research group was formed. After 4 years of hard work and collaboration, dozens of scholars from different disciplines have initially completed the integration and innovation of the theoretical modeling of national cultural structure and big data methodology, especially the use of digital information technology to innovate the internal operating mechanism of national culture, which has been unanimously affirmed by the expert group. This achievement provides theoretical support for exploring the specific goals of building a cultural power as a cultural identity country and defining the specific connotations of cultural policy formulation. In addition, the participating experts put forward suggestions for improvement on some specific issues such as the sorting out of the supporting materials of the results and the representative results.

Professor Fu Caiwu said in his speech that the research team will optimize the results of the project in accordance with the opinions of the expert group. At the same time, it will closely focus on the core idea oftheoretical innovation serving the cultural power strategy and strive to obtain new research results in the structure of national culture and its operating mechanism, providing some academic ideas for the new methods and new path for cultural research under the framework of big data.
