The 2nd Symposium on China and Rule of Law in Cyberspace was Successfully Held

On November 4, 2019, the 2ndSymposium on China and Rule of Law in Cyberspace was successfully held at School of Law in Wuhan University. The conference was hosted by the Network Governance Research Institute of Wuhan University and the School of Law in Wuhan University.

Kubo Mačák, Legal Counsel of the International Committee of the Red Cross and Associate Professor of Law at the University of Exeter, UK, described the development of cyberspace governance. Xu Ke, Assistant Professor of Law at the University of International Business and Economics, gave a report on cross-border data under the Personal Information Protection Act. He said that the cross-border institutional design of relevant data has become a focus. Zhao Bo, a researcher at the University of Tilburg Law School in the Netherlands, focused on the protection of personal geographical data and compared the current status of legislation in the United States and Europe.

Lu Xuena from the Ministry of Public Security has sorted out the legal dilemmas facing the current data security. Zhang Jiajun, a professor at Zhengzhou University Law School, gave a speech on “Big Data and Referee Rules”. Professor Hou Dongde, Dean of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, analyzed the evolution, content and characteristics of the US cybersecurity strategy and proposed suggestions for improving China's cybersecurity strategy. Professor Wu Taixuan from the School of Economics and Law of Southwest University of Political Science and Law has interpreted the interests of consumers in the case of unfair competition in the Internet.
