On June 15th, the International Symposium on the Sino-Japan Relations in the New Era was held at Wuhan University, it was hosted by the Japan Research Center of Wuhan University, co-hosted by the Institute of Social Sciences of Waseda University and organized by the Institute of International Studies of Wuhan University.

In the keynote session, scholars in China and Japan generally believe that deep exchanges and cooperation in regional economy and non-governmental exchanges should be strengthened to jointly meet increasingly serious challenges; and political mutual trust should be strengthened to prevent emergencies.

The second part is a special lecture. Scholars elaborated on the administrative reforms initiated by Japan at the end of the last century with "political dominance" as the core; they also sorted out the ins and outs of Japan's current constitutional system, and analyzed the attitude of the international community and Japan in seeking "revision of the constitution”. Comparison of the monetary policies of the two countries has also been discussed. And scholars have reviewed the history of the study of Sino-Japanese cultural exchanges.

In the Q&A session, scholars said that China and Japan should enhance their understanding of each other's culture and values on the basis of maintaining peace, and they also have confidence in the future of bilateral relations. There is an immature aspect in handling bilateral relations between China and Japan. Scholars should shoulder their responsibilities and promote the development of Sino-Japanese relations.
