Lately, Professor Huang Zhixiong visited the University of Sheffield School of Law and the famous think tank Chatham House to conduct academic exchanges in the field of cyberspace international law.
At the invitation of Prof. Nicholas Tsagourias, Director of the Center for International Law and European Law at the University of Sheffield and Professor of International Cyberspace International Law, Professor Huang Zhixiong went to UK to deliver a lecture at the University of Sheffield Law School on the afternoon of May 30th entitled “The Application of International Law in Cyberspace: Some Personal Reflections”. He analyzed the origin, development, controversy and prospects of the application of international law to cyberspace, and responds to China's attitudes and positions on international law applicable to cyberspace and cyber sovereignty in the Q&A session.
At the invitation of Harriet Moynihan, researcher of the International Law Project of Chatham House, Professor Huang Zhixiong joined Elizabeth Wilmshurt, the Institute's senior researcher, Professor Nicholas Tsagourias of the University of Sheffield School of Law and Senior lecturer Kubo Macak of the University of Exeter Law School on June 3 to talk about their views on the issue of the principle of national sovereignty and the principle of non-interference in internal affairs applicable to cyberspace.
During his trip to the UK, Professor Huang also briefly visited Dr. Ruma Mandal, head of the International Law Program at Chatham House, and shared his ideas with Professor Nicholas Tsagourias and Harriet Moynihan on strengthening cooperation in the field of cyberspace international law and other international law.
