Professor Qiao Hongwu Won the Sun Yefang Economic Science Award

On July 29, 2019, Sun Yefang Economic Science Foundation issued a public notice, and theWestern Economic Ethics Researchedited by Professor Qiao Hongwu from the School of Economics and Management of Wuhan University won the 18th Sun Yefang Economic Science Award. The book is the only award-winning work in this year's Sun Yefang Award. Professor Qiao Hongwu also became the first person to receive the Sun Yefang Economic Science Works Award from Wuhan University.

Western Economic Ethics Researchis the final result of a major project of philosophy and social science research of the Ministry of Education conducted by the senior professor Qiao Hongwu of the Department of Economics of Wuhan University. The final evaluation level of the project is excellent. This set of works is the most comprehensive research on Western economic ethics from ancient times to the present, which systematically studies Western economic ethics from the beginning of the Bible to the 2008 subprime mortgage crisis. The great theoretical value of this set of works lies in the successful realization of interdisciplinary research in economics and ethics, it objectively explores and showcases the history of Western economic ethics, while highlighting the core values of Western economic ethics, thus making up for China's lack of research on western economic ethics, and improving the western economic ethics system.

Sun Yefang's Economic Science Awards honors China's outstanding Marxist economist Sun Yefang, commends and rewards groups and individuals who made outstanding contributions to economic science, and promotes the prosperity and development of China's economic science. In 1984, it was established and awarded every two-year. The award was been established for 35 years and is the highest award in the Chinese economics circle.
