Experts Discuss Frontier Issues of Private International Law

This year marks the 30thanniversary of the establishment of the China Society of Private International Law and the 30th anniversary of the Chinese government's participation in the Hague Conference on Private International Law. During September 22-23, Global Forum on Private International Law and China Society of Private International Law Annual Conference 2017 were held in Wuhan University, which attracted the participation of more than 400 government representatives, experts and scholars from 18 countries.

Participants focused on the theme "Cooperation for Common Progress: The Evolving Role of Private International Law”, and exchanged opinions on issues such as the development of world private international law since China's accession of Hague Conference on Private International Law, "Belt and Road" and international judicial cooperation, in particular theHague Convention on Choice of Court, new development of private international law in Asia and Africa and so on.

The conference was sponsored by the China Society of Private International Law, the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and organized by Institute of International Law of Wuhan University and School of Law.

Not long ago, the Chinese government announced its accession to theHague Convention on Choice of Court. Over the past 30 years, China’s involvement in Conference on Private International Law in Hague was passive in the beginning, but we gradually become more and more actively engaged, and now we are contributing the wisdom of Chinese people in the future rules of civil and commercial relations.
