Three Professors of WHU were Employed as Editorial Board Members of Encyclopedia of China

Recently, three professors of Wuhan University were employed as editorial board members of the third edition ofEncyclopedia of China. Ning Jinsheng, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, was employed as the editorial board member and consultant of surveying and mapping science; Ma Feicheng, Senior Professor of Humanities and Social Science, was appointed editorial board member and the editor-in-chief of information science; Chen Chuanfu, Dean of Graduate School, was appointed editorial board member and the editor-in-chief of the library science.

It is learnt that in 1978 the State Council approved the publication ofEncyclopedia of China. In 1993, the first edition ofEncyclopedia of China(74 volumes) was published by disciplines. Now the State Council has passed a major project of publishing the third edition ofEncyclopedia of China, it has organized more than 20,000 experts and scholars from research institutions, colleges and universities around the nation for the compilation work.
