【Academic Exchange】School of Information Management Teachers attended the 83rd International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) World Library and Information Conference

From August 19^thto 25^th, Professor Fang Qing, Dean of the School of Information Management, Professor Li Gang, Director of the Center for Information Resources Research, Prof. Huang Ruhua, Vice Dean of the School of Information Management and Associate Professor Zhou Lihong, Assistant to the Dean, went to Poland to attend the 83^rdInternational Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) World Library and Information Conference.

During the meeting, representatives of our university discussed with the industry's top associations and related institutions about cooperation opportunities. They discussed with Prof. Seamus Ross from the University of Toronto in Canada, Lynn Silipigni Connaway, Chairman of the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), Lydia Middleton, Executive Chairman of ASIS&T, Lian Ruan, Executive Chairman of Chinese American Librarians Association, Shali Zhang, Dean of Libraries of the University of Montana among others, and established cooperation with the Association for Library and Information Science Educators (ALISE), American Information Science and Technology Association (ASIS&T), IFLA Information Literacy Section, American Library Association (ALA) and other academic societies. In addition, they also explored the methods and details of cooperation with the United States University of Illinois Library, Germany Humboldt University School of Library and Information Science.

In the promotion and seminars organized by IFLA Journal, representatives from our university introduced the development of the English academic journals of the School of Information Management and discussed with the representatives of De Gruyter Publisher about the publication of the first English academic journal and on-line work.
