Prof. Omura Izumiand and Professor Rolf Hecker Gave Lectures in WHU

Prof. Omura Izumi and Professor Rolf Hecker, famous scholars of Marx and Engels and editing experts ofKarl Marx/Friedrich Engels Gesamtausgabe(MEGA2),were invited to give lectures in our university, and they gave academic reports respectively on December 12 in the School of Philosophy.

Professor Omura Izumi made a report entitled "Empirical Studies and Conclusions on the Issue of the Originator of theGerman Ideology", and presented his own thoughts on Marx and Engles’ writing in theFeuerbachchapter which the international research community shows a particular interest.

Professor Rolf Hecker gave a presentation entitled "A Survey of Marx Studies". He is the editor of the new MEGA2 part IV, and in this part, he describes Marx's academic research covering a wide range of disciplines. Professor Hecker showed us Marx's academic research in different periods from the beginnings of Marxist philosophy research in 1840s, monetary, financial crisis and European foreign policy research in the 1850s, political economic systematization in the 1860s, social, economic and natural research in the 1870s.

Professor Omura Izumi is an honorary Professor of Tohoku University in Japan, and Associate Director of the Literature Research Center of Marx and Engels in Tsinghua University. Prof. Hecker is currently the Chairman of the MEGA2 Editorial Promotion Committee of Berlin. (School of Philosophy, Sheng Fugang)
