The 2016 Pittsburgh Confucius Institute Council Meeting Convened

On December 9, 2016, Wuhan University and the University of Pittsburgh held the 2016 Pittsburgh Confucius Institute Council Meeting in Kunming. Prof. Li Fei, Vice President of Wuhan University and Chairman of the Council of the Wuhan University of the Confucius Institute at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Armony, Senior Director of the Center for International Studies of the University of Pittsburgh, and Chairman of the Council of the University of Pittsburgh of the Confucius Institute at the University of Pittsburgh, and eight members of the China - US Council took part in this meeting.

During the meeting, members of the Council discussed the establishment of the 10thAnniversary of the Confucius Institute in Pittsburgh, the selection and training of Chinese volunteer teachers, the inter-university cooperation between Wuhan University and the University of Pittsburgh, and the friendship exchange between the City of Wuhan and Pittsburgh. Prof. Li Fei, Vice President of Wuhan University, fully affirmed the brilliant achievements of the Confucius Institute in Pittsburgh in the past ten years. He thanked both the Chinese and American sides for their cooperation under the principles of co-construction, sharing, co-management and sharing.

Confucius Institute in Pittsburgh was co-founded in 2007 by the Wuhan University and the University of Pittsburgh, and run by the Wuhan University College of Chinese Language and Literature. It has won the global "Advanced Confucius Institute" title for four times. (College of Chinese Language and Literature, Xiao Ying)
